Ammco Brake Lathe 4000 Review
The 4000 is a good all-around machine, and is the most common of the three. With a properly equipped 4000, you can turn nearly any car or light truck drum or rotor. And if you want to turn medium to large truck stuff, then you can buy extensions, heavy duty arbors, etc.. to expand your coverage. It's modeled after the most popular design for brake lathes and has improved features. It has dual DC servo motors now instead of complex gear boxes. This is a much more reliable design. Ammco combination bench lathes support rotors or drums using a standard one inch arbor. And like all Ammco brake lathe, it almost never breaks down. Since its initial introduction four decades ago, the Model 4000 lathe has been a favorite of brake technicians everywhere.
